Yardley, PA

Over Thanksgiving weekend we went to our aunt and uncle's home in Yardley, PA.  They live near farmland and have a backyard that is super nice for hanging out - lots of big trees, a pond with a swan, large lawn, picnic bench, and patio.  And one of our cousins and his girlfriend brought their two adorable dogs along for the holiday.

We're Off!

The apartment is clean and scrubbed, letters dropped in the post to spread feelings of gratitude, last minute yoga class attended, and we are officially ready to get in the car and drive to the Philadelphia area to spend the holiday weekend with our  family!  I'm going to see my older sister for the first time in over a YEAR - eeeeekk!  Happy Thanksgiving!

Books, Books, give me Books!

I dream of having a room in my home that feels like walking into a library or bookstore.  Of course, a cool ladder would take it over the top :)

Neeeew York, New Yooork!

This NY visit was very quick; I spent most of the time just wandering around neighborhoods and areas that I had never seen.  Some highlights - walking the High Line, beer and brats at the Chelsea Biergarten, a hidden Belgian beer place, stopping for a peek at Rockefeller Center, window shopping, people watching, trying sachlav for the first time, and seeing the city still on the move at night.  Good food, great friends, wonderful times!

Afternoon in Central Park

I went to NY last week for a quick visit to see some friends, and had an awesome time.  I love this city!  One afternoon was spent wandering around Central Park, where we saw fall colors, someone taking footage for google interactive maps, an acrobat showing off his muscles and skills, and lots of people lounging around and enjoying the beautiful weather.

The Sprinkler Factory

The Sprinkler Factory is an awesome renovated warehouse that now houses studios for artists.  We went to the opening of a show on textiles and fabric, which was really great.  After spending time soaking in the colorful tapestries, we ran around in the large open space in back with some of the kids.  It would be such a cool place to have a studio!
